They are just two of the hundreds of birds affected by the devastating oil spill soiling the Gulf of Mexico. About 80 kilometers (50 miles) from the coast, in the Sherburne Wildlife Area, a cattle egret and a least bittern took their first steps in total freedom, 10 days after being found and treated in a coastal rescue center.
